Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science and Commerce was the
first institution on the Campus, which was inaugurated in June 1963,
by the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. M.S. Kannamwar. It is
situated in large and beautiful campus, with Mughal architecture and
beautifully laid gardens. The Maulana Azad Educational Trust has
taken the area on the long Lease from the Marathwada Wakf Board.
Since its inception, the college went on making steady progress in
every direction with the result that is rated today as one of the
best colleges in India, to which students come not only from this
country but also from many foreign lands. The college has pioneered
job-oriented courses in Geology, Industrial chemistry, electronic,
Microbiology and Computer Science and Drilling Technology. At Junior
college (+2) level also job oriented vocational courses were
introduced for the first time in the region. The institution has
become an instrument of social change by imparting education from
Junior College to Post Graduate courses in various disciplines and
Doctoral research center in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Geology,
Hindi and Urdu. | |
