Library and Reading Hall

The Shastri Canopy is the high point on the campus. An extravagant flight of steps reaches up to a light geometrical canopy below which the entrance gate of the library is situated. The spacious library and reading hall is open throughout the day. The timings are extended in the examination period. The library has more than 40,000 books. It regularly subscribes educational and cultural magazines, journal periodicals, newspapers etc. Every regular student can take books on all subjects for the whole year under the 'BOOK BANK' scheme.

Rules Regarding the Library

Every student is expected to observe the following rules and regulations.

1. He/she should bring the Identity card signed by the Principal while coning to the library failing to do so will be penalized upto Rs. 50/-.
2. Strict silence should be maintained in library. If anyone is found guilty of making noise or creating disturbances will be fined Rs. 50/-, which may be extended to the cancellation of all library facilities.
3. Reading hall will remain open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.30. p.m. daily except on public holidays. A fine of Rs. 50/- will be charged if a book / magazine is taken outside the library.
4. The book on their library cards will be issued on particular days fixed classwise the library
5. Every student must check the pages of the books and report immediately before leaving counter.
6. A fine of 50 paisa per day per book will be charged if the books are returned after the due date.
7. Every student can take two books at a time for a period of one week only on his library card.

Damaging the pages, marking them with ink or pencil etc., tearing or taking out the pages will cause a damage to the book. One and half price of the book will be collected or student will have to replace the book with similar particulars.
